So . . . I won NaNo, so that means I'm probably going to be getting back to a regular blog/Figment schedule at some point in the very near future. You know, after Christmas decorating is done (tree goes up tomorrow!). My final word count was 50,783 - not that the story on Figment reflects that in the slightest. Some crazy business went down, and I ended up handwriting most of it in panicked bursts at nine o' clock at night.
Anyways, I'm also in the middle of Christmas shopping, which at the moment amounts to frantic price comparisons of Xbox 360s and PS Vita's.
Congrats on winning NaNo! Life caught up with me, grabbed my by the ankles, and threw me in a computerless abyss for the majority of the month. So although I got some writing done, I totally failed at NaNo and ended up working on my deadlined stories for school. Responsible? Yes. Loser? Yes. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that you kicked butt - I'm sure that you're feeling very relieved and tired. Shopping will fix that right up :) I'm looking forward to seeing what you've written if you continue to share it on Figment :D
Thanks Kim! Computerless abyss . . . yep, I know the feeling! At least you can plead academic pursuits when it comes to NaNo. Either way, you got something written this month. :) Everyday at some point I still stop and go, "Wait - I haven't done my words yet!" It's kinda ridiculous.
DeleteYay, Camilla! I'm very happy that you won NaNo. This month I did write more than I usually would in a month where I wasn't participating in a Nano, but I am proud of the stuff that did get down onto the old word documents.
ReplyDeleteThis month (surprisingly), I had a lot of things I had to do. I went to two camps (I JUST got back from one; I'm catching up on all of the blog posts I missed), and also went to several all-day events which really sapped the life out of me. Hopefully December will be less hectic, and you and I both will be able to post more chapters on Figment. :)
I KNOW. I go into November thinking, "Hey, I've got like, nothing to do this month. This is gonna be SO EASY." And fifty gazillion things happen. Camp sounds like a nice getaway though. I mostly got hit with chores/errands/blah. And I really like The Heartless Club so far. The writing's so crisp!
DeleteCongratulations on completing Nano! That's really wonderful news and such a great accomplishment. I hope you're really happy with what you've written and look forward to reading it when/if you choose to share it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Wonderfall went pretty well, but it's gonna need some serious work. There are parts of it that I adore and parts that I don't even remember writing that are kind of super atrocious. Not to mention that I wrote it mostly out of order. I really hope you continue Void, Inc. though. It's so good!
DeleteWhere did you go?
